The past simple


It refers to actions that happened  in past. 


The words of  the past simple

Yesterday, last …….(week,month,years…..etc),once ,ago,in + past period 

A- verb to be in the past.


Affirmative:

you we, they            were
I ,He, she , it……………was

Negative  form:

Was                         wasn’t 
Were ………………..weren’t 

Question form

A-If the sentence  begins with  yes or no questions ,we omit yes or no and alternate between  the subject and verb to be.

Yes ,I was……………….were  you……?
Yes,we were…………….were you…….?
Yes,he was……………..was he………..?

Yes,they were…………..were  they……..?

3- I had   cheese and bread  two hours ago.     (  What)
-What did you have two hours ago?
